Daily Devotional #1,819

A guy drives into a ditch, but luckily, a farmer is there to help. He hitches his horse, Buddy, up to the car and  yells, "Pull, Nellie, pull!" Buddy doesn't move.
"Pull, Buster, pull!" Buddy doesn't budge.
"Pull, Coco, pull!" Nothing.
Then the farmer says, "Pull, Buddy, pull!" And the horse drags the car out of the ditch.  Curious, the motorist asks the farmer why he kept calling his horse by the wrong name. "Buddy's blind," said  the farmer. "And if he thought he was the only one pulling, he wouldn't even try."
That story makes me think of times when I felt like I was all alone, pulling the load, facing the crisis or bearing  the pain. There are times when we all feel that way. We find that situations change, people’s commitments fail  and we might even wonder where God is in all that we are dealing with. God doesn’t want us to imagine or  pretend that there is help out there when we have to bear the load. God reminds us to not be afraid because he  is with us no matter the task or situation. He tells us that we shouldn’t be discouraged because he is our  God. He promises both to strengthen us and we will find that we can do more and endure more than we could  have ever imagined. God promises that he is there…and he will help you. And when you feel like you are  sinking in life, God assures you that he will hold you up. So, look to the future with hope and optimism  because you won’t be tricked into doing the job all by yourself. The God of the Bible will be with you. Call on  him…and he will be there ready to help and stay by your side. You can do anything…when God is leading and  supporting you! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Isaiah 41:10 NLT Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will  strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
