Daily Devotional #1,821

We had our own built-in typing teacher at our house. Our Mom was a high school business teacher, and she  taught a lot of typing classes. We had an old Royal typewriter at our house that Mom used to teach us. The first and most critical thing about typing fast and typing accurately is making sure of where your fingers placed first  on the keyboard. If you don’t start at the right place, then nothing you do will be right. Those fingers have to  be on the keyboard, starting with your left index finger on the “F” key and your right index finger on the “J”  key. If you don’t start right, you can’t type right. The Bible talks about that too. Whatever we start with,  whatever foundation or position or whatever you want to call it, will determine what you and your life produces.  The Bible reminds us to start at the beginning…with the one who it claims is the beginning. It says that this  Jesus of the Bible existed before anything was created…and that he is supreme over all creation. And it even  claims that God created everything that we know through him and for him! And the Bible declares that this is  the starting point of all things and in him is our starting point too. He is the base from which we determine right  and wrong, what is sin and what is righteousness. It is in him that we can build a happy and purpose driven life.  So, like placing our fingers on the right keys is the way to success in typing, placing our faith in Christ is  declared to be the “key” to life and love and the deepest needs and desires of our hearts. Where you start from  makes every difference in the world to you and me now and for you and me forever. Put your fingers on the  right keys and put your faith in this Jesus of the Bible. Then the end will be what you have hoped for since the  beginning! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Colossians 1:15-16 NLT Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was  created and is supreme over all creation, (16) for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms  and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see—such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers,  and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
