I accidentally left a pair of pliers on in the backyard all winter. The other day I was cleaning up some stuff and there they were. Somehow, I just missed them. They were pretty rusted, and I could barely open and close them. I thought “What am I going to do with these things?" And then I remembered…I had not too long ago seen a video online that showed a guy taking a rusted tool and putting it in a glass of Coca Cola. He put his tool in the coke and left it there for 24 hours. He pulled it out and it looked like brand new! I thought “If he can do it, I can do it!” So, in went the pliers and after 24 hours I pulled out the pliers and it was a miracle! It was a miracle that I actually believed something I saw on the internet! The pliers were still rusty, but now they were sticky with coke as well. Some folks feel the same way about God. Some choose to believe that this whole God thing is a myth or if there is a God, then you can’t trust him. One of the things that I love about the Bible is how God loaded it with prophetic promises…of things that would happen and things that he would do. As we come to this Easter week there are 8 specific prophecies, delivered over hundreds of years that tell different aspects of Palm Sunday, Jesus’s betrayal and crucifixion and his resurrection. God lets us know that he has a plan for this human race and for you and me. If we check out the Bible for ourselves, we see the details of Palm Sunday were presented and recorded by the prophet Zechariah 550 years before the day Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. So, I’m seeing a proven track record with God and I’m going to keep putting my trust in him and his word. And I’m going to take some time out to just think about all that God promised would happen…while I scrape the rust off my pliers! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Numbers 23:19 ERV God is not a man; he will not lie. God is not a human being; his decisions will not change. If he says he will do something, then he will do it. If he makes a promise, then he will do what he promised.
Remember I’m praying for you!
