Did you ever wonder why it is sometimes so hard to just sit down and read the Bible? It is because of what it will do to you. If you don’t read it or read it once a week…they say there is no difference in your life or behavior that comes from it. If you will read it 2 to 3 times a week, there might be a slight impact on you and your life, but it is hardly noticeable. But if you will read it 4 or more times a week…then it begins to have an amazing effect according to one study that was done. Everything begins to change. You are more likely to share your faith, memorize scripture and best of all, you are more inclined to live it. The Bible claims to be the Word of God. And one of the things that it tells us people, making this journey on earth, over 360 times is…Do Not Be Afraid. We don’t live in a spiritually neutral environment. There is an evil force (read Satan here) that doesn’t want you in that book. The reason you will need to force yourself to pray and to force yourself to read…is that the Devil doesn’t want you in that book and is out there pushing back on you…to just keep you from that connection with God. Read it and see who God is, what kind of love he has for you and what promises he has made to you. Push back against the forces out there opposing God and break open that Bible. Don’t know where to start? Check out the gospel of John and see what God says and does in his love for you. Put down the phone for a bit and pick up a Bible and see for yourself what God has to say. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Hebrews 4:12 BSB For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Remember I’m praying for you!
