Daily Devotional #1,599

Serving in a Navy submarine can be hazardous duty but there is one way that those on board are kept safer than  others at sea. There is a story of a sub that had to go out for a short test run to check out some new equipment.  They had to stay submerged, check out the equipment for 24 hours and return. As they pulled into port, a sailor asked one of the sub’s crewmen how last night’s terrible storm affected them. The sailor said “We didn’t even  know there was a storm!” The sub had been so far beneath the surface that it had reached the area known to  sailors as “the cushion of the sea.” The ocean above can be whipped into huge waves by high winds but in this  area…the waters are never stirred. God promises those who trust in him that he will keep you in perfect peace.  The key and the hard part is to keep your thoughts fixed on him and not the storms or even the warnings of the  storms of life. The Psalmist said in Psalms 56:3 “When I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.” Storms will  always be out there. And you may struggle with anxiety, fear or even dread. But God will get you through your  storm…and there will be times when it will be tough and then there will be times when you won’t even feel the  storm you are sailing through. Keep your thoughts on this Jesus and he’ll take care of you. Here’s our Bible  verse for today…
Isaiah 26:3-4 NLT You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on  you! (4) Trust in the LORD always, for the LORD GOD is the eternal Rock.
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
