Daily Devotional #1,602

Today is Father’s Day. It is a day to honor our Fathers. Some folks didn’t have a Father present in their lives.  Some had a Father that was a destructive force in their growing up. Some have a Father that is no longer  physically with them. I had a really good Father…but he’s been dead now for almost 20 years. But I had the  privilege of him being with me through my growing up years, marrying my wife, and having our children. I am  so thankful for that. But today, I don’t have that Father with me. And you may not have a Father with you this  holiday. The good news is that the Bible is calling you to rejoice today. To be glad in the presence of God and to be filled with joy. And the reason is that you and I have a Father with us this special day. The promise in the  Bible is that God declares that when you are fatherless…he will be your Father in a special way. I miss Dad,  but I’m going to enjoy my heavenly Father this day. And I will thank him for my Dad and our family and all  those who were a part of our growing up. And I pray that today you will feel the closeness of this Father who  loves you more than any earthly Father could have ever loved you. And he will not leave you, he will not ever  stop loving you and he will always be there reminding you that you are someone special in his sight. So no  matter what your situation is today…celebrate Father’s Day. You may be like me…a Father who lives in my  heart and in my fondest memories and who loved me the best he could and a heavenly Father who loves me  now and will forever and will be here with me every day of my life…including this Father’s Day. So, Happy  Father’s Day…you are loved and you are somebody special in the sight of the God of the Bible. Here’s our  Bible verse for today…
Psalms 68:3-5 NLT But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with  joy. (4) Sing praises to God and to his name! Sing loud praises to him who rides the clouds. His name is the  LORD—rejoice in his presence! (5) Father to the fatherless…
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
