Daily Devotional #1,606

During World War II a young Marine got separated from his unit while moving through a particular Pacific  island. He saw enemy soldiers and took refuge in a cave alongside the trail he was on. The soldiers were  checking for Americans everywhere and while there were other caves, he knew that they would eventually  come into his hiding place and capture or even kill him. He did the one thing that he could still do in the  situation, and he began to pray. He prayed that the God he served would somehow protect him from his enemy.  When he finished, he looked out of the cave, expecting the worst, when he noticed that a spider had begun  spinning a web across the opening. He laughed to himself thinking how silly it was to think that a spider web  could provide protection against a powerful and hostile enemy. The spider continued to spin the web and by the  time the soldiers came to his cave, they saw the untouched web and assumed that no one could be inside. They  moved on and the Marine was not harmed. That young man learned that day that with God, something as small  and fragile as a spider web can be as strong as a mighty stone wall. When you need protection in any way or  setting, be aware that God may use what seems to you to be the weakest thing around to hide you from trouble  and protect you from danger. And in that time, he will put his song of deliverance in your heart. When you are  a follower of this Jesus of the Bible, God will be your hiding place in times of fear and doubt and trouble. Trust  him and let him weave his web of protection over and around you today. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Psalms 32:7 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of  deliverance.
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
