Daily Devotional #1,616

I heard a 911 operator describing a call that she got one night. It was from a man who was calling from a closed  auto shop. He said that he had come into the shop through a window and was rummaging around for stuff but  before he could grab anything he was forced into a corner by a 12 foot allegator who was roaming this shop.  He said that he couldn’t move from where he was and needed help. The 911 operator began calling nearby fish  and game wardens and finally got several of them to come to the shop and rescue the man. After the robber was  saved, he was then arrested for breaking and entering! The Bible tells us that when we sin, and this guy was  surely sinning, we are sinning against the Lord. And the warning is that our sin will find us out. No matter how  clever we think we are or how sneaky we act, our sin will take its toll on us. So remember that any sin will find  a way to track you down and it will take its own reward. The solution? Well, don’t sin! But we all sin and will  continue to sin until we are taken from this earth. So, what do we do when we sin? The apostle John wrote “If  we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to  him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.” (1John 1:8-9 NLT)  Here’s our Bible verse for today…  
Numbers 32:23 NET “But if you do not do this, then look, you will have sinned against the LORD. And know  that your sin will find you out.
