I remember watching the movie “Forest Gump” and the scenes that took place after he entered the U.S. Army. One of the things he said was “There was always something to do!” But that can be our lives too. There is always something to do. We seem to busy with something all the time. I’ve heard it said that the devil doesn’t have to get you to sin horrible sins. If he can’t make you bad…he’ll make you busy. Satan’s ploy is to just get us derailed from God’s plan for us. We look at people who are in obvious and pretty blatant sin…and understand that they are missing God’s best for their lives. But we don’t think about the fact that we might be missing God’s best for us because our lives have been filled with stuff…not bad stuff…just stuff that takes us away from our connections with God and his people. So remember that you may be doing a bang up job in staying away from a lot of dangerous and obvious sin. But you and yours can be stealthily drawn into things that will dull your passion for this Jesus of the Bible and the things God has given us to do and be a part of that will give us the ability to stand firm against our great enemy. Stand strong in your faith and make sure you and yours are not filling your lives with things that are good, but not God’s best. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith.
(1Peter 5:8-9 NLT)
Remember I’m praying for you!
