I just had a fun time at a gathering of a few friends at church. We just cooked up some hot dogs had chips and ate watermelon and ice cream. It was one of those times when you get a chance to just stop and talk with people and listen to them as well. We got talking about some of the things we had done, places we had traveled and adventures we had growing up. The funny thing was that the more we talked, the more we seemed to
remember. I thought about that experience and couldn’t help but think about all the things that God has done in my life and in the lives of the folks I know and care about. The Bible reminds us to remember all the amazing things that he has done, the miracles that he has brought about in our lives and the good things he has brought to us. And then there all those times when we called on him for help or comfort or reassurance…and he was there and gave us the strength to go on. But it also reminds us that we can always go to him for help. So, like I spent time with my friends and went down memory lane…we need to do that with the God who loves us. To just spend some time thinking, remembering and thanking him for his goodness and faithfulness to us and those we love. As we remember the past, it will energize us to come to him first and foremost in our times of need. And that’s what he hungers for us to do. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
1 Chronicles 16:11-12 ERV Depend on the LORD for strength. Always go to him for help. (12) Remember the amazing things he has done. Remember his miracles and his fair decisions.
Remember I’m praying for you!
