Daily Devotional #1,631

There were two men who were walking on a beach in the early morning after a huge storm. The beach was  covered with starfish that had been washed up during the gale the night before. There had to be thousands of  them just sitting helplessly on the sand. The first man was down aways and the second guy got closer, and he  saw what he was doing. As he walked down the beach he was grabbing a starfish, one at a time and throwing  them back into the water. The second guy caught up with the starfish guy and asked him what he was doing.  The first guy said “The starfish will die if they stay out here on the sand when the sun comes up. So, I’m  throwing them back into the water.” The second guy looks around at the hundreds and hundreds of starfish and  he said “Buddy, you’re just one guy…what difference do you think you’re making?” The first man bent down  and picked up a starfish and threw it into the water and looked at the guy next to him and said, “It made a
difference to this one.” And then he bent down and picked up another starfish and pitched him back into the  waves and said “And it made a difference to this one too.” You won’t be able to change the whole world, but  the good you do can change one person’s whole world. In the Bible, God says that you will always harvest  what you plant. If you live for yourselves…you end up harvesting a life of decay and death. But if you live to  please the Spirit of God…your harvest will be rich and full and satisfying life now…and everlasting life  forever. So don’t get tired of doing good. And don’t stop doing good just because you cannot change  everything and everyone. When God gives you the opportunity…don’t pass it up. Even if it is one starfish at a  time…what you do counts, it matters. To them and to God. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Galatians 6:9-10 NLT So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest  of blessing if we don’t give up. (10) Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to  everyone—especially to those in the family of faith.
Remember I’m praying for you!
With love, PJ
