Daily Devotional #1,664

There has been a lot of stuff on social media in the last 24 hours since Charlie Kirk was murdered at an event at  a Utah university. People were looking back on different clips and in one of them a guy was interviewing him  and threw out this question…How do you want to be remembered? Kirk looked at the guy interviewing him  and they both laughed a bit and he said “You mean if I die?” The guy just repeated the question and Charlie  said “I want to be remembered for courage for my faith.” I liked that, but then I saw an interview that may have  been the last one before he went to that open mic in Utah. He was asked what was an important Bible verse to  his life. Without much hesitation, he shot back that the most important verse to him was Romans 8:28. He said  that it says “And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who are  called according to His purpose.” He said that he had confidence in God, that no matter what, that God was in  control and that he could trust him with whatever happens. That God would not waste anything and that he  would indeed work all things together for the good of those who loved him…including Charlie Kirk. If you are  a follower of Jesus that’s what it is going to be asked of you. To live your faith with courage and to trust that no  matter what happens, that God will still be working to bring out his ultimate good even in the face of the  hardest trial or the darkest evil. Take that to heart if you are a follower of this Jesus of the Bible. And if you are not, but want to be…remember that Jesus won’t call you to just agree with some good ideas, but will challenge  you to come and follow him wherever he leads you. And it won’t be easy and you will be swimming against  the crowd. But that it will be worth it…forever. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Romans 8:28 BSB And we know that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him, who  are called according to His purpose.

Remember I’m praying for you…
