Daily Devotional #2010

I watched an incredible 49er game against the Chicago Bears last night. I pulled my portable stationary bike into the family room, and I watched every moment of that exciting game. I watched what individual players did, who made mistakes, who made awesome plays and even who got hurt. I saw every movement that the TV crews put up for broadcast and I really wanted my guys to win...and they did! And I got “shushed” more than once as I cheered them on from my bike! As I watched, I thought about how I was so involved with the members of my 49er team. And I thought about how God does that too. The Bible says that God knows when you and I sit down even or stand up. That God knows our thoughts and sees us whether we are traveling or are safely at rest at home. God knows everything I do and he even knows what I’m going to say before I say it. That passage in Psalms 139 reminds us that God sees us and never leaves us to fend for ourselves in life. He wants to watch our lives and choices and victories and even our defeats in life. And he knows all this because he is passionately interested in you and me. He isn’t spying on us but is watching over us. He is always there. So, no matter if those closest to us lose interest in us and our lives, he is there every day and night watching us, ready to help us and always rooting us on to victory. Remember God is on your side, and he wants you to be a winner in life. So today, go out there and make God look good. Be a person who represents him well to the world and remember that he is watching not as a policeman, looking for failure, but as a fan who wants you to emerge from the game of life a winner.

Here’s our Bible verse for today...

Psalms 139:2-5 NLT You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. (3) You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. (4) You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. (5) You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.

Remember I’m praying for you...
