I am a San Francisco 49ers fan. They lost last Sunday. But the last minutes of the game were exciting and there was no way to know who was going to win that contest! I played in a number of games where the last two minutes were so key. And so much important stuff happened right there at the end of the game. I am older today. Actually, I’ll never be as young as I am today! But I’ve never been this old before. I remember being tired, beat up and bleeding in those last two minutes of a football game. But it was exciting because you didn’t know exactly what might happen! Our lives are like that too. That means that as we get older, we can choose to just throttle back…or, we can make every moment left on the “clock” count. Today I am young…well, compared to what I’m going to be tomorrow. And so are you no matter what your age. The Apostle Peter wrote that no matter where we are in life and especially in that last “quarter of play”, that’s where history is made and heroes are born. Take who you are and what you have done and ask God to give you the same attitude that Christ had. The time is shorter than you think, so don’t spend the rest of your life chasing your own desires, but be anxious to do the will of God. Do all the good you can while you can. Never stop dreaming the dreams he puts in your heart. And go out and make God look good today…while you are this young! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
1 Peter 4:1-2 NLT So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude he had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically for Christ, you have finished with sin. (2) You won’t spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do the will of God.
Remember, I’m praying for you today….
