Daily Devotional #1,710

It is Thanksgiving and on this day, I will remember those followers of Jesus from England who traveled across  the Atlantic Ocean for weeks and ended up in the wrong spot of this land called America. They were befriended  by folks who already lived here and even with their help, nearly half of the 102 settlers died that first winter.  But with the help of their new friends, they grew crops and learned to hunt in this new land. And each day they  passed by the dozens of graves of their friends and family. But they trusted God in the face of grief, starvation  and hardship. And with food and friendship they sought to give thanks with the first Thanksgiving celebration  in America. They prayed and worshiped and threw a three day party! And with all that they had gone through,  they gave thanks to the God who had been with them through every trial. No matter what your circumstances  are this Thanksgiving Day, take time to say, “thank you”, not for the hardships but for God’s leading and loving  through the hardships. Today do thank God for what he has done and what he has given but remember that it is  God himself that is the object of our Thanksgiving this day and all our days in our journey on this earth. Be  thankful no matter what the circumstances you face because this is God’s will for all who belong to this Jesus of  the Bible. Thank him for his love, forgiveness, patience and the promise that he will never leave your side.  Here’s our Bible verse for today…
1 Thessalonians 5:18 NLT Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ  Jesus.
Remember I’m praying for you…
