Daily Devotional #1,712

There are so many things that I love about Christmas and the Christmas season. In a way it looks like many  folks get kind of “infected” by the season and there seems to be a new kind of joy and even hope this time of  year. I love seeing decorations, Christmas trees and even getting to share the passages from the Bible about the  events surrounding that first Christmas. But one of the other things that I really treasure are the songs of  Christmas! I love hearing them, but I really enjoy singing them. I’m not a good singer, but I’m sure am an  enthusiastic caroler both in church and at home! The Bible talks a lot about singing to the Lord and about the  wonderful things he as done. I am thankful that I grew up with lots of Christmas music and to sing again brings  back so many wonderful memories that I treasure in my life and the history of God’s plan of redemption with  the sending of his son into the realm of humanity…God who comes in the flesh. So, this Christmas season
remember the historical accounts of Christmas but don’t forget to sing. And to tap into a non-biblical source, I  heard Buddy the Elf, in the movie “Elf”, say “the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to  hear!” So, take time to sing the songs of Christmas about the story of Christmas and don’t be afraid to sing  loudly…and that just might be a wonderful way to spread that Christmas cheer. Here’s our Bible verse for  today…
Colossians 3:16 BSB Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you as you teach and admonish one another  with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.
Remember I’m praying for you…
