Daily Devotional #1,768

God wants us to pray and there is no limit on how much we can pray! As a matter of fact, our days ought to be  pretty much a running conversation with God as we work, play, struggle, celebrate, grieve or rejoice. And  Psalm 91 God tells us that he will rescue those who love him. And that he will protect those who trust in his  name. And then he says, “When they call on me, I will answer…”. Have you called on God, prayed to him,  asked for something from him? And what happened? Some people will say “Well, I prayed and God didn’t  hear my prayer”. What they mean is that they asked God for something and he didn’t give it to them. I get that.  It has happened to me too. But what we need to remember is that when you pray, you always get an answer  from God. The one we expect or at least hope for is that God will say “yes”. I’ve had lots of times when God  has answered with a “Yes” and that is a blessing and we might say at that moment God is Providing for you.  But there are times when God will say “No”. And we struggle with why God would deny us this hunger or  desire of our hearts. When that happens, God is Protecting you. We may have no idea what it is that he is  protecting us from, but that’s where our trust or faith in him becomes real. But then the third way that God will  answer is “Not Yet”. Timing is always important in God’s economy. And what is happening during that wait  time is that God is Preparing us. So, pray and pray often and pray confidently that God hears. But remember  that God is doing what is best for us and that best often can’t be seen by us at the time. That Psalm 91 tells us  that he will rescue those who love him and he will protect those who trust in his name. That’s your part…to  love and trust him. So, pray and realize that God is answering those prayers…Providing (Yes), Protecting (No)  or Preparing (Wait) . Trust him and know that if you love him, he will always be with you in trouble and he will
rescue you in his own way and in the end, he will honor you and your prayers. Today, make sure you talk to the  God who loves you more than anyone ever will. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Psalms 91:14-15 NLT The LORD says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my  name. (15) When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.
Remember I’m praying for you…
