There’s the story of the guy who was working at an amusement park when a couple stopped him. “Excuse me,” said the woman, pointing to a pond. “What is that water made out of?” Taken aback, the guy replied, “Two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen.” “See?” she said to her boyfriend. “I told you it wasn’t real.” H20 is real water…that is pretty basic information. We get some pretty basic information about the reality of God every day too. All we have to do is to look around us. The Apostle Paul wrote to followers of Jesus who were in Rome about the fact that we ought to know the truth about God because he has made it pretty obvious to
us. He wrote that ever since the world was created people have seen the earth and sky. And when we look at everything around us and understand the basic law of cause and effect, believing in a creator God is not such a far reach for anyone. By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse. The basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! Anyone who wants to approach God has to choose to believe both that he exists and that he cares enough for people to respond to those who honestly seek him. Give it a try…you’ll never know unless you do! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Romans 1:20 NLT For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.
Remember I’m praying for you…
