Daily Devotional #1,810

bThere is the story of the woman who went on her first camping trip with her husband, and they were lost. He  tried all the usual tactics to determine direction—moss on the trees (there was none), direction of the sun (it was  overcast), and so on. Just as she began to panic, he spotted a cabin in the distance. “This way,” he confidently  said as he led her back to their camp.
“How did you do that?” my friend asked.
“Simple. In this part of the country, the satellite dishes point south.”
Life can be confusing and the way to purpose and happiness and joy can seem like a lost cause. But the Bible  tells us that it is really simple. Just before Jesus went to the cross he told his disciples that they knew the way to  where he was going…the way to get home. Thomas, one of the disciples blurted out that they didn’t know  where he was going, so how in the world could they know the way? Jesus told them that night and all of us for  all of history “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.” This life  is not permanent. The cemeteries are full of people who walked like you will today. This Jesus of the Bible  tells us that this is not home, but there is a way to get home and that is through him. Through him we begin that  journey with life, love and hope and faith. And one day, he says that this journey will end and if we have  received him and his loving forgiveness, then that last journey will not be fearful or mysterious. The way  home, a place you’ve not been to, is through him. Trust him with your heart and soul and the way home, to  heaven is simple and easy and the price of admission has been paid by this Jesus of the Bible. Here’s our Bible  verse for today…

John 14:4-6 NLT And you know the way to where I am going.” (5) “No, we don’t know, Lord,” Thomas said.  “We have no idea where you are going, so how can we know the way?” (6) Jesus told him, “I am the way, the  truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Rememer I’m praying for you…
