Daily Devotional #1,811

“Why are y’all blamin’ God for your problems? Most of y’all’s problems come from not listening to Him to  begin with!” I laughed when I first read that and then I thought, “You know, that is pretty much the truth”.  When things don’t go our way, how often do we fault God? And when we do that, do we ever stop to think  about how much we bother to listen to him much less obey him? Yeah…when we look at the world around us  and even get real honest about our own lives, we end up realizing that God doesn’t create much of a blip on our  personal radars until life doesn’t work out like we planned it. One of my favorite Psalms is number 91. I have  used it more than any other except maybe the 23rd Psalm. Psalm 91 reminds us that God says if we are devoted  to him…he will deliver us. If we are loyal to him, he will protect us. When we need to talk to God, he will  answer and he will not only rescue us but will bring us honor. Does that mean that life will be perfect? No.  This is not heaven, quit wasting your time trying to make this world something that it can’t be. God is asking  us to simply let him be our God…really be our God. He tells us that the one who obeys him is the one who  really loves him. So, what do you do? Start with the basics. Go to church. Be with others who are somewhere  in the journey of learning to love and obey God. Pray. Talk to God…and then be quiet. And you just might  hear his voice. Read your Bible. It is the instruction manual for life on earth and the way to defeat the power of  death and reserve you a place in heaven. Listen to God and you just might find answers to some of those  nagging problems and struggles and troubles that you face in your journey on earth. Give it a try…you might  quit blaming God and start thanking him. Here’s our Bible verse for today…

Psalms 91:14-16 NET The LORD says, “Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him; I will protect him  because he is loyal to me. (15) When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in  trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor. (16) I will satisfy him with long life, and will let him see my  salvation.
Remember I’m praying for you…
