Daily Devotional #1,814

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy was doing an interview and said that he grew up in the town that had the first  Chic-Fil-A restaurant. The man who owned it and started the wildly successful restaurant chain was named  Truett Cathy. Jeff knew him and one day he said Mr. Cathy called him over and said “Jeff, do you know how to  tell if someone needs encouragement? Look for someone who is breathing! If someone needs encouragement,  remember it doesn’t cost you a dime to do it. Look for people to encourage”. As a follower of Jesus let those  around you hear words of encouragement from you. So often what people hear, even from believers, are  reminders of how they have failed, questions of why didn’t you choose to do something another way or just  empty silence. Remember, it doesn’t cost you anything to do it. Be an encourager of people and one great way  is to use something from the Bible itself. The Apostle Paul wrote followers of Jesus in Rome a reminder that  “The Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God’s promises to be fulfilled.”  Remember that those who criticize are a dime a dozen…to be an encourager, doesn’t cost you a dime! Go out  and change the world…and start with someone’s day. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Romans 15:32 NLT Then, by the will of God, I will be able to come to you with a joyful heart, and we will be  an encouragement to each other.
Remember I’m praying for you…
