Daily Devotional #1,825

Do you know the four most special times that we celebrate this Jesus of the Bible? The first is his birth…that’s  Christmas. God became flesh and became one of us according to the Bible. The second is his death…that’s  Good Friday. This same Jesus goes to the cross for us and pays for the sins of all of us by his blood shed on the  cross. The third is Easter…Jesus rose from the dead. Easter is God’s affirmation first that Jesus is indeed the  Son of God. But also, that Jesus’ did bring forgiveness to whomever wanted it. But there is one more day. It is  the day that you gave your heart to this same Jesus who did all of those other things…and you became a new  person in God’s sight and began a new life right here on planet earth! And the thing is…those other three don’t  really have a lot of meaning without this last one. Jesus can be born a thousand times in Bethlehem, crucified  again in Jerusalem and be raised from the dead…and unless you are born in him…you remain lost to him
forever. Enjoy all those special days we celebrate, but don’t miss out on that last one, because God wants you  in heaven and with him for eternity. He waits for each one of us to open the door to that last day of  celebration…when you become a child of God, for now and forever. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
John 1:10-13 BSB He was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not  recognize Him. (11) He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. (12) But to all who did receive  Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God— (13) children born  not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.
Remember I’m praying for you…
