Daily Devotional #1,827

I love Easter and the demonstration of God’s power in raising Jesus Christ from the dead! And the Bible  reminds us that because he lives…and that even in the face of our own deaths, we will live too. God is in the  business of resurrection, because there is something else that he can resurrect in your own life right now. And  that is hope. The story of the human race is that we look for hope, even in the face of suffering,  disappointment, discouragement and heartache. If your hope is fading or maybe has even died, God wants you  to know that he has a future and a hope for you. The Apostle Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome, who were  under constant persecution, told them that there is hope and there is a specific path to hope. He said that we  rejoice in our sufferings. And the reason we can is because we know that through suffering, God can produce  endurance and that endurance will create character and character produces hope. And the really good news is  that the hope that God builds into us doesn’t disappoint us because God has poured his love into our hearts
through the Holy Spirit in his children. The resurrection of Jesus from death and the tomb is reality. And the  hope that God gives is real too and is there for you. It won’t always be easy, but if you let him, God will build  that into your heart and mind, and no human or spirit or circumstance can take that away from you. Trust him  and let him make hope come alive in your heart again! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Romans 5:3-6 BSB Not only that, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering  produces perseverance; (4) perseverance, character; and character, hope. (5) And hope does not disappoint us,  because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. (6) For at  just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.
Remember I’m praying for you…
