Daily Devotional #1881

I started making model airplanes as a grammar school student. And I still do it as I can find time to work on  them. I have one on my work table here in my study that is almost done, but it is different from any other  model…there is no other one like it. It is a product of what is called “kit bashing”. Kit bashing is using parts of  other models in order to complete one good one. What happens is that parts get lost, broken or just messed up
in some way. This one I found in a storage drawer in the garage. I liked the plane it was supposed to be but  somewhere along the line, I had set it aside and parts were lost and the model itself was damaged. So I went to  work. I found parts that would fit from something else and I actually made some parts myself. It wouldn’t look  like the model the original instructions would have depicted, but I like it and will enjoy adding it to the  collection hanging from the ceiling above where I work. Things that might have been thrown away years ago  were repurposed and made into something that I will enjoy. When I was working on trying to get something out  of a bunch of mis-matched parts, I got to thinking about how God does that in our lives. There are things that  happen to us that bring damage in some way, things that we might say have no use at all and some that cause us  to simply ask God “Why”? The Apostle Paul wrote in his letter to the Roman church that God takes all the  stuff like that in our lives that we see as lost causes or of no worth and he does his own version of “kit bashing”.  He takes the stuff of life and makes it all work, and work for good. There is a condition though. God takes all  those things that just don’t fit and works them together for good…for those who both love God and are doing  their best to live in reliance on God and obedience to God. If we do that, then nothing is wasted. All is used in  some way to build, transform and even bring joy to you. So if you are willing to submit your heart and pride to  God and return his love and give him your trust…nothing in your life is wasted. And you, in time. may get to  see how it all works together. Let God have all those pieces of your life that are rattling around in that box of  life and give him the green light to make something good and real and worthwhile of all your moments of life  that you live on you your journey here. Don’t lose it, let God use it! Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Romans 8:28 NLT And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love  God and are called according to his purpose for them.
Remember I’m praying for you,
