Daily Devotional #1884

Mother Teresa of Calcutta, India had a tremendous ministry to the unwanted, orphaned children of that huge  city. She became world renowned for what she attempted and accomplished. But the remarkable part of her  story is how she got started. She was convinced that God had given her a dream to build an orphanage. She  told her superiors what her dream was. She said “I have three pennies and a dream from God to build an
orphanage in Calcutta.” Her superiors tried to bring her back to earth by telling her “You can’t build an  orphanage with three pennies…with three pennies you can’t do anything.” They say she smiled that day and  said “I know, but with God and three pennies I can do anything.” We need to remember that there are so many  things that are impossible for us to do, to cause or to even experience. But not so for God. We have to read that  Bible and understand that anything is possible for the God who loves you and is loved by you. Jesus said that if  you have faith just the size of the smallest seed you can imagine…it can produce an enormous living thing. So  how do you do this? Well, first you need to have a dream in your heart. And that dream has to be fueled by  God. And then you need to trust God and his timing. There is a verse that was the first bit of scripture I  memorized shortly after I finally surrendered my life to this Jesus of the Bible. It is Mark 10:27 and it says  “With men it is impossible. Not so with God. With God all things are possible.” Like Mother Teresa’s  superiors, there are those who try to pull you down to earth…at least the thinking of the earth. But look to  heaven and if your dream is God’s dream…then nothing can stop it. There is a trick reminder that I and others  have done so we don’t forget that. What we have done is that we set an alarm on our phones or watches for  6:50 pm. At that time, 6:50 it goes off every day. Why? Because that is 10-2-7…and it makes us look again at  that promise, that with people, so many things are impossible. But with the God of the Bible…all things are  possible. Memorize that verse and set that watch as a reminder that the God who invites you and me to trust  him…all things are possible for him. Here’s our Bible verse for today…
Mark 10:27 NLT Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with  God. Everything is possible with God.”
Remember I’m praying for you,
