I love summer and I've always loved it. The hot days, the cool pool or even a sprinkler in the yard. Getting to stay up late because there wasn't any school for weeks. And then we set up a tent in the backyard and would spend the night sneaking out to look at the starry skies. But there was something out there that I knew would come. And I didn't know what it would contain exactly, but I couldn't wait to see what it held. Because in just a matter of weeks we would go to our mail box and in it was...the Sears Christmas Wishbook! It was hot and sultry but our minds would drift to Christmas and all that it would bring. We would start looking in that catalogue starting in August and would keep thumbing through it until Christmas Eve. Each year there would be new toys and sports equipment and all kinds of treasures. And while we knew kind of what it would hold...it was always exciting to see for ourselves the pictures of what was out there for Christmas. I've thought about those times and I am excited about the future
now too. But it is what God has for us...and for me. The Bible tells us that "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” It reminds me that no matter how I feel or struggle or even worry about... God has a great big beautiful tomorrow out there for me and anyone who wants it. And it isn't just heaven...it just might be right now or next week or any time soon. So live life expectantly...and see what God brings you or reveals to you by his Spirit. God is good all the time...but the best is yet to come. Look for it and love it when it comes and tell God how much you appreciate it...remember to say "thank you". Here's our Bible verse for today...
1 Corinthians 2:9-11 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him." (10) But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God's deep secrets. (11) No one can know a person's thoughts except that person's own spirit, and no one can know God's thoughts except God's own Spirit.
Remember I'm praying for you,
