I heard someone talk about a conversation he saw on an old talk show. One of the guests was the Archbishop of Canterbury and the other was Jane Fonda. According to this person the Archbishop, in their conversation, told Jane Fonda "You need to remember that Jesus Christ is the Son of God". Jane Fonda replied "Jesus may be the Son of God to you, but he isn't the Son of God to me." As it was told, he leaned forward and said "Jane, he either is the Son of God or he isn't". One of the lies that the Devil
has put into the world is that you can have your reality but I'm going to have my reality. That's a lie. There is reality and there is fantasy. Now you may decide that anything you believe is reality and everything else is fantasy...but that doesn't make it true. When it comes to Jesus Christ, he is the Son of God...or he isn't. He is the way, the truth and the life and no one comes to the Father except through him...or he isn't. God gives us incredible freedom...to live and breathe and believe anything we want and pretty much act any way we want. The problem is that this life here on earth isn't forever. So what then? There are folks who believe that there is nothing...you go from something to nothing at all. That's not what the Bible says. It reminds us that there is still "us". And that there is a God who gave us all we see and experience in this world and his message to us from the cross of Jesus Christ is that we can have eternal life with him. Life like we always dreamed of and yearned for. The worst nightmare is that we ignore this God who has shown himself in his creation, in his Bible and in the lives of others who have trusted their futures to him, and then say "I will not believe and submit to that God". What if the real you, beyond that body of yours does keep living? Then it is you before the God who gave up his Son Jesus the Christ to the cross to satisfy payment of yours and my sins. The message here is choose
wisely...because everything depends on what you decide to give your heart to. Jesus is the answer to today and all the tomorrows of eternity...don't leave earth without him...in your heart. Here's our Bible verse for today...
John 1:10-13 He came into the very world he created, but the world didn't recognize him. (11) He came to his own people, and even they rejected him. (12) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. (13) They are reborn-not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God.
