The story is told about a barber who had just committed his life to the Jesus of the Bible in an old-fashioned revival meeting. The next morning at work he wanted to share his new faith and witness to those who didn't have a relationship with God. A customer came in, and the barber began to shave him. He was trying to muster up the right words to say. Finally as he stood with his razor poised over the man's throat he asked, “Are you prepared to meet God?" I love the guy's enthusiasm and commitment...but presentation might be just a bit off. God wants us to let folks know about the hope that we now have in us. Christ in your life changes everything. And without Him the Bible say that people can't be with him in heaven. And sometimes we excitedly share with people, with a “knife” at their throats. You can't force, scare or trick someone into a love relationship with God. But when you come to Christ, you have a story to tell. It is the story of you...and this Jesus of the Bible. So be prepared to tell your story and why you believe. And be willing to share it with enthusiasm and energy and excitement. But be careful that you don't put "the knife" to their throat, either intentionally or by accident. Know your story and be willing to let folks hear it. And always treat people with gentleness and respect. And you just might see them hear you and see you and choose to become a part of God's family too. Be prepared and be gentle and respectful. God can handle the rest... Here's our Bible verse for today...
