Daily Devotional #1901

Years ago a young boy went to the local store with his mother. The shop owner, a kindly man, passed him a large jar of suckers and invited him to help himself to a handful. Uncharacteristically, the boy held back. So the shop owner pulled out a handful for him. When outside, the boy's mother asked why he had suddenly been so shy and wouldn't take a handful of suckers when offered. The boy replied, “Because his hand is much bigger than mine!" As a kid, how often did you say "I just want to do it myself!" And then the older we get the more we find out there are things we cannot handle, accomplish or even dream of. The God of the Bible reminds us that he is on our side and he can do so much more than we can do, ask or even imagine. And he can make it happen. And a lot of times he will use you as his conduit for making it happen. God promises that he has a good future for you and he is the God for whom nothing is impossible. So as you go through this day, think about the deep dreams of your heart. And then remember that the God who loves you so much is able to do so much more than you can even imagine. Keep your heart close to him, because his hand is so much bigger than yours. Here's our Bible verse for today...
Ephesians 3:20-21 Now to Him who is able to do so much more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, (21) to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Remember I'm praying for you,
