There is a story out there about a couple of guys who pulled up to a Dollar General store with the intention of robbing it. The getaway driver stayed with the car, its engine running. The second guy went into the store carrying a pistol and threatened the staff and customers. However…the folks in the Dollar General didn’t take kindly to that and managed to take the gun away from the robber and began to beat him with his own firearm. The getaway driver watched all this from the parking lot and called 911 on the Dollar General people! I bet that was
interesting when the police arrived. The Bible teaches us that we are not to take personal revenge against people. That’s God’s prerogative. But we are commanded to protect the innocent. So, God calls us to stand up for those whose lives are in danger or when injustice is imposed upon the weak. And don’t forget what God says in Psalm 11:5… “The Lord examines the righteous, but the wicked, the one who loves violence, he hates with a passion.” If you can stand up against wicked people…do it.
